Transkribus as a techno-social tool
This paper, presented by two researchers, each of whom is leading a large research project in partnership, will show how Transkribus has become a true techno-social tool. On the one hand, it will determine the factors that most influence the quality and performance of HTR models in the processing of archival corpora from the 17th-18th centuries that present relatively homogeneous handwritings. On the other hand, he will show how Transkribus, by allowing the association of artificial intelligence with crowd sourcing, creates spaces of exchange and sociability between the academic and citizen worlds that continue to grow and diversify in a sprawling manner on a global scale.
