Description:
X's For You code is public, so we read it. Each time you open For You, X pulls posts from accounts you follow plus accounts you don't, and cuts anything older than 48 hours before scoring. Then a transformer model reads your recent activity and predicts what you'll do with each post: like, reply, share, mute and more. Each prediction is multiplied by a weight and added up. In the code today, copying a post's link is weighted 20 and a like 0.66, while mute (-58.8) and "not interested" (-52.272) are big negatives. Original posts from accounts with up to 50,000 followers, under 2 hours old and under 200 home views, can be lifted to about 16th place in some feeds.
STILL UNCONFIRMED:
- Whether your own feed runs these exact default numbers (X says it runs experiments on a small share of traffic)
- Which feeds get the small-account lift (the code has test arms; the share isn't stated)
