At stumps on Day 4 of the 2nd Test in Colombo, rain forced an early end to the day's play with Sri Lanka reaching 229/6 in their second innings, holding a very slender 16-run lead over India. Sri Lanka’s second innings was completely revived by a phenomenal third-wicket stand. Youngster Pasindu Sooriyabandara (92) and Kamindu Mendis (55) stitched together a crucial 115-run partnership to drag the hosts out of trouble. Left-arm spinner Manav Suthar turned the momentum back in India's favor in the second session, dismissing both Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya de Silva and the set Sooriyabandara within a space of two overs.
