Description:
Python strings and numbers behave differently: why does the same plus sign produce 23 or 5?
Learning goal: notice quotation marks, predict whether + joins text or adds numbers, and compare exact Python output.
Try this Python 3 code:
print("2" + "3")
print(2 + 3)
Terminal output:
23
5
Change 2 and 3 to 1 and 4: the text becomes 14, but the numbers still add to 5.
Learning path: strings in Episode 5, Python print in Episode 44, and variable updates in Episode 46.

Original educational animation with generated artwork and synthetic character voices. Python prints terminal text; the characters handle the story props themselves.
