Chavez tutvustab oma vastutusvaldkondi Eestis, Prantsuse vägede rolli ja koostööd Eesti kaitseväe ning liitlastega. Juttu tuleb ka sellest, kuidas ühine väljaõpe tugevdab liitlasvägede koostöövõimet, milliseid õppetunde on saadud Ukraina sõjast ning kuidas Eesti vägedega treenimine on aidanud arendada ka Prantsuse vägede taktikat ja varustuse kasutamist.

In this special episode of the Sõdurileht podcast, we speak in English – and for good reason. Our guests are allies from France. Joining us in the studio is Lieutenant Colonel Raphael Chavez, France’s Senior National Representative in Estonia and the Deputy Commander of the NATO battlegroup.
Chavez shares insights into his responsibilities in Estonia, the role of the French forces, and their cooperation with the Estonian Defence Forces and allied troops. We also discuss how joint training strengthens interoperability among allies, the lessons learned from the war in Ukraine, and how working with Estonian troops has helped develop the tactics and equipment use of the French contingent.
In the second part of the episode, we join the French units at Exercise “Pikne”, where Hellfire missiles are launched from helicopters over Estonia for the first time. We hear Captain Thibault’ reflections on this historic event, discussing the organization, challenges, and cooperation with the Estonian Defence League.
