Just in time for Christmas!!! This one was fun! Okay, I might have cheated this time and bought the pre-lit cut out at the craft store, but it was on sale for less than I could have bought the parts to make it for, and the LEDs gave me authentic Neon vibes with the encasement they came with.
I removed the light strip (if you do this, be very careful not to break the LED strip inside, they are VERY fragile) and sanded it smooth before starting to paint. I applied a thick snow white base coat and let it dry. Next I briefly sketched my design on the board with a pencil and straight edges and got to work on the tree green lettering. When I do letting projects I find it works well to paint the middle of the letter first and then expand to the desired thickness later so you'll see me paint a thin line and go back over it later. I finished up by adding in the secondary lettering in red and once everything was dry replacing the LED strip.
